Monte Cristo Sandwiches Butter 2 beaten eggs Sauté onion strands in butter. At the same time, cook enough bacon for a couple of slices per sandwich. In a bowl, combine the eggs, milk, and vanilla. Dip the bread slices in the egg mixture to coat both sides. Cook the slices of bread on a griddle. (Basically, you're making french toast here.) Assemble the sandwiches. (French toast slice, turkey, cheese, bacon, onion, French toast slice with mayo.) I usually try to melt the cheese a little bit and try to make all ingredients warm when serving. |
