Pork Ribs w/Kraut

3 lbs. Pork ribs, cut into serving size
Salt & pepper
1 (16 oz.) can sauerkraut, undrained
1 medium onion, thinly sliced and separated into rings
1 (8 oz.) can mushrooms, stems & pieces, drained
1 large or 2 small apples, cored & cut into wedges
¼ cup brown sugar

Preheat pot on range over medium heat. Add ribs in batches to brown. Season with salt & pepper.

Put ribs in crock pot. Layer sauerkraut, onion, mushrooms, apple wedges, and brown sugar over ribs.

Cover & cook on low for 7 to 9 hours, medium for 5 or 6 hours, or high for 3 to 4 hours until meat is tender.

Makes 6 servings.
