1 cup butter (2
sticks) Heat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease a 10" x 15" x 1' pan. Whisk together flour, sugar, soda, and salt; set aside. Ina saucepan, heat the buttermilk & butter until barely bubbling. Remove from heat & quickly stir into the flour mixture & remaining ingredients until smooth. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown & tests done in center. (Might take longer) Allow to cool 15 minutes. Spread frosting over warm cake. Frosting: You can use Cream Cheese frosting & add a little almond extract. Frosting needs to be pretty soft & thin - cake is very tender. |
